At the Community Crisis Center, we work to help victims of sexual assault to regain control of their lives, explore their options and deal with the effects of trauma. We strive to empower survivors and help them move through their crisis to develop and pursue goals. If you are interested in any of the services listed below, please contact the Community Crisis Center at 847-697-2380.

Services Available

Individual Counseling
Meeting one-on-one with a counselor may provide a safe place to discuss your situation, express feelings and explore options. While we provide short-term counseling, referrals are provided for group and long-term counseling. We also provide individual counseling to significant others of a sexual assault victim.

Family Counseling
Sometimes families will need to talk together about what happened, so they can best support one another after the trauma.

Medical Advocacy
If you are in the emergency room at Provena St. Joseph, Sherman or Delnor Hospitals as a result of sexual assault, please notify the nurse. Specially trained volunteers and staff members will go to the hospital to support the victim and provide information to additional services.

Legal Advocacy
Legal advocates assist the victim in navigating the criminal justice system and possibly pursuing a civil case against the offender. Advocates may attend court dates on the victims behalf plus provide information about the investigation, prosecution and sentencing of the perpetrator.

Prevention Education
The Sexual Assault Prevention Program assists schools, groups and agencies to education young people and adults against sexual assault. Professional training can also be provided for groups, students, faculty and parents. Presentations are tailored to meet the needs of each group. All educational presentations are free of charge.
